William Lyon Homes (NYSE: WLH) in Newport Beach rose 9% to $20 and a $732 million market cap. The home builder and developer will be bought by Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Taylor Morrison Home Corp. (TMHC) for $2.4 billion in cash and stock.
AGRICULTURE
American Vanguard Corp. (NYSE: AVD), also in Newport Beach, was up about 3% to $15.75 and a $459 million market cap. The chemicals maker reported third-quarter results that beat analyst expectations.
