TECHNOLOGY
Irvine-based telematics specialist CalAmp Corp. (Nasdaq: CAMP) jumped 14% to $11.86 with a market cap of $396 million. The company beat analyst expectations when it reported first quarter 2020 results Thursday after the market closed. The company reported sales of $89 million and 12 cents per share, topping the consensus analyst estimate of $87 million in revenue and 9 cents a share.
HEALTHCARE
Axonics Modulation Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: AXNX) climbed 9.3% to $40.62 with a market cap of $1.1 billion. The Irvine-based maker of medical devices to treat bladder and incontinence maladies has a 52-week high of $40.77.
Avid Bioservices Inc. (Nasdaq: CDMO) rose 31% to $5.26 and a $294 million market cap. The Tustin-based pharmaceutical contract manufacturer yesterday reported revenue almost tripled to $17.1 million from a year ago and a 2 cent loss, which topped the consensus of three analysts for $15.7 million in sales and a 3 cent loss. The company also forecast “an increase in demand.”
