The S&P 500 declined 0.5% in midday trading to 2,865.63.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.4% to 25,713.65.
The Nasdaq was also down by 0.7% to 7,855.04.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was down 0.7% to 2.4%.
The price of gold rose 0.3% to $1,288.
The price of oil was up 0.5% to $61.98 a barrel.
HEALTHCARE
Spectrum Pharmaceuticals Inc. (SPPI) in Irvine was up 2.7% to $9.57 and a $1.1 billion market cap. The drug maker, which primarily focuses in hematology and oncology, reported the acquisition of two new assets and a technology platform for oncology during its first quarter earnings call Thursday.
SERVICES
Newport Beach-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Nasdaq: CLNE) was down 4.5% to $2.93 with a market cap of $605 million. Shares in the company, which runs natural gas fueling stations for fleets of taxis, buses and other vehicles, are still up about 70% for the year.
