The S&P 500 rose 0.1% to 2,930.04.

The Dow Jones was down 0.4% to 26,497.73.

The Nasdaq was up 0.3% to 8,125.17.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury climbed 0.6% to 2.54%.

The price of gold was about flat at $1,280.

The price of oil dropped 0.2% to $65.78 a barrel.

RESTAURANTS

Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) in Newport Beach dropped 4.5% to $677.54 for an $18.9 billion market cap, despite reporting better-than expected quarterly sales and profit yesterday. Shares of the fast casual chain fell after it said this morning it received another subpoena from U.S. federal prosecutors seeking information related to a foodborne illness outbreak last year at one of its Ohio restaurants.

It reported first quarter revenue of $1.31 billion and earnings per share of $3.40 adjusted compared to analyst consensus of $1.27 billion and $3.01, respectively.

Shares have increased more than 53% year-to-date.

REAL ESTATE

Irvine-based triPointe Homes Inc. (NYSE: TPH) fell 7.4% to $13.22 for a $1.9 billion market cap. The home builder yesterday reported first quarter revenue of $493.3 million, surpassing analyst expectations of $467.7 million. It reported less than one cent earnings per share, below analyst estimates of two cents per share. Shares are still up 17% year-to-date.
