Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was up 0.1% in midday trading to 2,706.48.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.4% to 25,090.57.

The Nasdaq dropped 0.1% to 7,273.12.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 2.2% to 2.69%.

The price of gold fell 0.3% to $1,322.

The price of oil was up 3.2% to $55.50 a barrel.

MEDICAL DEVICES

Edwards Lifesciences Corp. (NYSE: EW) in Irvine fell 1.3% to $168.27 and a $35.2 billion market cap. The company, a maker of heart valves and Orange Countyโ€™s most valuable publicly traded company, yesterday forecast first quarter profit below analystsโ€™ consensus estimate.

RETAIL

Tillyโ€™s Inc. (NYSE: TLYS) in Irvine rose 6% to $12.84 and a $380 million market cap. The youth fashion retailer earlier today announced it would issue a special cash dividend of $1 per share. Separately, Mike Henry last night was honored in the public companies category at the Business Journalโ€™s 12th annual CFO of the Year Awards.
