Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 rose 0.9% in midday trading to 2,665.78.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.8 % to 24,719.93.

The Nasdaq was up 1.3% to 7,163.36.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 1.6% to 2.8%.

The price of gold was up 1.3% to $1,296.

The price of oil was up 0.9% to $53.65 a barrel.

TECHNOLOGY

CalAmp Corp. (Nasdaq: CAMP) was up 6.6% to $14.69 with a market cap of $457 million. The Irvine-based maker of telematics products launched an inventory management and connected car solution under its LoJack brand for auto dealers Thursday. Shares have declined 40% from this time last year.

MANUFACTURING

Foothill Ranch-based semi-fabricated aluminum products manufacturer Kaiser Aluminum Corp. (Nasdaq: KALU) was up 2.5% to $97.43 with a market cap of $1.6 billion. Company shares have risen 17% since Dec. 24 when they hit a 52-week low.
