Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was down 0.2% in midday trading to 2,894.46.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.4% to 25,907.42.

The Nasdaq rose 0.1% to 8,099.45.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond declined 0.7% to 2.84%.

The price of gold was up 0.3% to $1,205.

HEALTHCARE

Spectrum Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: SPPI) dropped 4.9% to $21.52 and a $2.3 billion market cap. Shares of Spectrum, a maker of drugs for cancer and blood diseases, have more than doubled in the past year.

RETAIL

Youth retailer Tilly’s Inc. (Nasdaq: TLYS) in Huntington Beach was up 19.2% to $24.58 and a market cap of $725 million. Shares have risen since the retail chain reported fiscal second-quarter revenue and profit that topped the average estimates of three analysts. Tilly’s credits its sales increase to back-to-school spending.
