The Nasdaq climbed 0.8% to 8,095.50.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was 0.1% lower at 2.88%.
The price of gold fell 0.2% to $1,212.
HEALTHCARE
Glaukos Corp. (NYSE: GKOS) in San Clemente was up 34% to $60.22 and a $2.1 billion market cap. It makes a line of stents to treat glaucoma and Novartis said it will withdraw a competing product from the market “due to a lack of efficacy” reports said.
Avid Bioservices Inc. (Nasadaq: CDMO) in Tustin was up 6% to $6.43 and a $359 million market cap. Shares in the contract drug maker are up about 50% year-to-date.
