Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was up 0.8% in midday trading to 2,798.37.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1% to 26,048.74.

The Nasdaq climbed 0.9% to 7,286.29.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond jumped 0.8% to 2.56%.

The price of gold was 0.2% higher to $1,339.

RETAIL

Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) in Irvine was down 8% to $17.56 and a $470 million market cap. The western wear retailer said its majority owner and other investors will sell 5.5 million shares in a public offering. Boot Barn won’t receive proceeds and the majority owner’s stake would drop to about 30% in the sale.

RESTAURANTS

BJ’s Restaurants Inc. (Nasdaq: BJRI) in Huntington Beach was up 5% to $38.10 and a $786 million market cap on moderate volume. The casual dining chain reports earnings next month.
