Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 climbed 0.4% in midday trading to 2,653.71 after the U.S. Senate passed its version of a tax reform bill.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.8% to 24,432.09.

The Nasdaq declined 0.2% to 6,832.19.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond increased 1.2% to 2.39%.

The price of gold fell 0.4% to $1,273.

RETAIL

Boot Barn Holdings Inc. of Irvine (NYSE: BOOT) increased 6.6% to $15.34 and a $409 million market cap. Shares have more than doubled since Nov. 2, when it announced fiscal second-quarter results that topped analyst estimates for revenue and profit.

RESTAURANTS

Habit Restaurants Inc. (Nasdaq: HABT) rose 6.7% to $9.93 and a $258 million market cap. Shares had dropped 25% to $9.30 on Nov. 2 after the Irvine-based fast-casual burger chain reported third-quarter same-store sales fell 0.2% year-over-year.
