TECHNOLOGY
Irvine-based Western Digital Corp. was up 12% to $53.23 and a $15 billion market cap. The storage products maker raised current-quarter revenue guidance by about $50 million—to $4.45 billion from $4.4 billion, on the low-end of its range—and adjusted earnings per share by about 15%—to $1 from 85 cents, on the low end of its range. Analysts at FBR Capital maintained a “sector perform” rating with a price target of $55.
HEALTHCARE
Mission Viejo-based Ensign Group Inc. was up 2.6% to $20.05 and a $1 billion market cap. The healthcare facilities operator through its Cornerstone Healthcare Inc. unit bought Kinder Hearts Home Health and Hospice in Abilene, Texas. Terms weren’t disclosed but the company expects the acquisition’s operations to add to earnings this year.
