Average Daily COVID Cases Down

In the past week, there were 51 new coronavirus cases reported each day on average in Orange County, marking the fourth day in a row that the trailing seven days represented a decrease in new cases over the preceding week.

The figure is down from the 60 average daily cases reported for the week ending April 9.

  • For the week ending April 2, there were 57 average daily cases
  • For the week ending March 26, there were 28 cases
  • For the week ending March 19, there were 6 cases

There were 51 new cases reported Thursday, bringing OC’s total to 1,425, and three new deaths, bringing the local total to 25.

Nationally, there have been nearly 34,000 deaths; the Orange County per capita death rate is less than one-tenth of the national rate.
