Debbie Moreno has been named Anaheim’s finance director and will oversee the city’s $1.5 billion budget.
She had been serving as acting finance director for the city since November, when then-finance director Bob Wingenroth became interim city manager.
Wingenroth took the spot as former city manager Thomas Wood resigned.
Moreno will head the city’s accounting, procurement, payroll and technology services as director of finance.
She has been with the city since 2001, when she joined as financial accounting manager. She also spent time as the finance director for the city of La Palma, after which she returned to Anaheim as deputy finance director.
Moreno serves as vice chair of the California Municipal Finance Authority and California Foundation for Stronger Communities.
