Tustin-based Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc. (NYSE: SPCE) completed its sixth commercial flight to the edge of space today, including Laguna Beach resident Neil Kornswiet, the CEO of Optium Capital LLC, among the astronauts.
It marked the first time that space ship VSS Unity flew private astronauts in all four seats aboard the suborbital mission that took off from Spaceport America in New Mexico. It was Virgin Galactic’s first voyage of the year.
The company’s next mission is expected in the second quarter of 2024.
Shares in Virgin Galactic fell 1.5% to $1.92 apiece for a market cap of $769 million.
