Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) and musician Jason Mraz said they’re taking applications from prospective participants for an accelerator program focused on ventures providing sustainable and innovative solutions to farming.
The Aluminaries Project is Newport Beach-based Chipotle’s third accelerator program and links it with Mraz, who has worked with the restaurant chain on supplying avocados to Chipotle through his Mraz Family Farms.
The seven-month accelerator will offer mentoring and link businesses with investors. It is sponsored by the non-profits Chipotle Cultivate Foundation and Uncharted.
Chipotle, with over 2,800 restaurants, had a recent market cap of $41.4 billion.
