Pacifica to Run Boutique Hotel

Pacifica Hotels in Irvine has signed a deal to manage the Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica.

The Georgian is an 84-room art deco hotel built in 1933 and owned by 4DS Inc.

Pacifica has been growing its management business of late: it recently took on operations at La Jolla Cove Suites and will run Inn at the Pier in Pismo Beach, which opens later this year.

It’s also the second historic hotel Pacifica has taken on in the last year: it bought the Milner Hotel in downtown Los Angeles in January 2016. The 135-room Milner was built in the 1920s.

Pacifica owns and/or operates about 35 properties in California, Hawaii and Florida; the company itself is owned by Invest West Financial Corp. in Santa Barbara.

The Georgian’s past and present clientele is a Hollywood and historical “who’s who” of notables that include Bugsy Siegel, Fatty Arbuckle, Clark Gable, Robert De Niro and Oliver Stone.

Its “architectural integrity, coastal location, boutique style, and hospitality-first ethos, makes it a model addition to Pacifica Hotels portfolio,” said Pacific president and Chief Executive Matt Marquis in a statement. .

The Georgian’s renovated restaurant, bar, common areas and meeting rooms are expected to open this spring.

Broughton Hotels in Anaheim previously managed the Georgian.
