Long Beach Airport passenger traffic rose 8% in May, year-over-year, to about 345,000. Year-to-date traffic is up 9% to about 1.7 million.
Air carrier passenger totals in May were
• JetBlue Airways, with 268,000, up 4%
• Southwest Airlines, with 45,000, up 28%
• Delta Air Lines with 17,000, up 6%
• American Airlines with 15,000, up 33%
Air cargo—FedEx and UPS—was down 8% in the month to 1,815 tons, and down 16% year-to-date to 7,817 tons.
