John Wayne Airport said passenger traffic rose slightly in July 2014 compared to the same period last year.
Passenger traffic increased 0.4% to 837,702 passengers last month from 834,328 last July.
Take-offs and landings were up 12.1% from 21,867 in July 2013 to 24,523 this year.
The number of passengers flying to Canada and Mexico were down in July—from 44,659 last year to 30,195 this year. Mexican low-cost airline InterJet stopped flying to that country from John Wayne on July 19.
International travel was down 19% for the full year-to-date, from 226,383 in 2013 to 183,519 in 2014.
The three airlines flying the most passengers were Southwest with 353,085, American with 122,644 and United with 112,242.
