Pendry Hotels & Resorts has appointed David Hoffman as general manager of the upcoming 295-room Pendry Newport Beach set to open this summer.
Hoffman counts a 30-year-plus career in the luxury hospitality industry that includes a 20-year run at Montage International properties. Prior to Montage and Pendry, Hoffman worked for eight years at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.
He joined the local hospitality firm in 2003 and was previously the general manager of Pendry West Hollywood which opened in April 2021. Hoffman has also opened several Montage properties including its Laguna Beach hotel.
The Pendry Newport Beach property will be the company’s first location in Orange County and its third in Southern California. The resort will have over 14,000 square feet of meeting space and will also host a private membership club.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Montage Hotels & Resorts.
