Hotels, Museums, Bars Next to Reopen

California counties continue phased reopening of business, with hotels, gyms and bars the latest wave to reopen this week.

The latest guidelines, effective Friday, hold for counties that have filed attestations with the state meeting certain requirements related to their COVID-19 case counts and outlined plans in the event of an uptick in cases. Orange County’s attestation was approved Memorial Day weekend.

The latest reopening guidance includes campgrounds, RV parks, racetracks, family entertainment centers, gyms, hotels, museums, galleries, zoos, aquariums, bars and wineries.

While each set of guides is specific to that industry, physical distancing and frequent sanitation are common themes across the guidelines.

California is in the midst of a four-stage reopening of businesses closed since Gov. Gavin Newsom’s March 19 stay-at-home order, which left only businesses deemed essential to continue operations. The state is currently in stage two, with stage four signaling the end of the order.

The California Department of Public Health’s guidelines for each industry can be found here.
