The U.S. Department of Transportation approved Seattle-based Alaska Airlines to begin flights between Mexico and John Wayne Airport in October.
Approval from the Mexico Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil is pending but expected, the airline said.
A schedule of four daily flights per week between Orange County and Los Cabos is expected to begin Oct. 8, covering Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
A schedule of three daily flights per week between Orange County and Puerto Vallarta is expected to begin Oct. 9 and run three days a week—covering Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The airline’s introductory one-way fares to Los Cabos are $138 and $158 to Puerto Vallarta.
