DOT Approves New JWA-Mexico Flights

The U.S. Department of Transportation approved Seattle-based Alaska Airlines to begin flights between Mexico and John Wayne Airport in October.

Approval from the Mexico Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil is pending but expected, the airline said.

A schedule of four daily flights per week between Orange County and Los Cabos is expected to begin Oct. 8, covering Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

A schedule of three daily flights per week between Orange County and Puerto Vallarta is expected to begin Oct. 9 and run three days a week—covering Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The airline’s introductory one-way fares to Los Cabos are $138 and $158 to Puerto Vallarta.

Alaska Airlines joins Southwest Airlines in serving Mexico from JWA.
