Disneyland Resort to Introduce MagicBand+ in October

West Coast debut of Disney’s wearable technology

The Disneyland Resort will officially introduce MagicBand+ starting next weekmarking the Anaheim park’s first-ever release of the wearable technology.

Previously announced in September, the program is geared toward hands-free convenience with guests able to connect MagicBand+ to tickets and annual passes, Lightning Lane check-in and Disney PhotoPass through the park’s mobile app.

The bands will be available to pass holders, vacation club members and cast members – or Disney employees – on Oct. 19, and to the general public on Oct. 26.

The technology also aims to add to the immersive experience of the theme park with colored LED lights and vibrations during the nighttime shows and virtual scavenger hunts in various parts of the resort, starting with Galaxy’s Edge.

This is the latest edition of the MagicBand tech which first debuted in Florida’s Walt Disney World over the summer.

The rechargeable bands will start at $34 with over 18 color options.
