The Agenda apparel show had more than 300 exhibitors and drew about 6,000 retail buyers and media members for its Aug. 3 and 4 run at the Hyatt Regency in Huntington Beach.
The show’s organizer, Los Angeles-based Agenda LLC, set up a 30,000-square-foot tented pavilion to complement 60,000 square feet of exhibit space inside the hotel.
The Nike US Open of Surfing was expected to draw about 500,000 visitors to the nearby beachfront from July 30 to Aug. 7, with surf, skate and BMX competitions accompanied by food vendors and music acts.
Agenda has grown into a major show on the West Coast for the action sports segment of the apparel industry. It has joined several other shows in seeking to fill a gap in the market left after San Juan Capistrano-based Nielsen Expo-sitions pulled the plug last year on its Action Sports Retailer show.
Agenda’s next show is set for January in Long Beach.
