Vincit said on April 12 it had acquired Vuria, a website design and mobile app development firm based in Scottsdale, Ariz. The company also changed its name to Vincit USA.
“We are a custom software company, and design and implement mobile apps and web systems for companies,” Vincit USA CEO Ville Houttu told the Business Journal on April 14. “We are a tailor shop for everything digital.”
Vincit came in 35th in the Business Journal’s Best Places to work in the small-company category for 2020. The U.S. group, whose parent company is based in Finland, produced about $6.5 million revenue last year, according to Houttu.
Founded in 2007, Vincit says it has developed digital solutions and mobile apps for a wide variety of clients, including Yamaha, Kellogg’s and GE. Vincit USA’s parent company is listed on the Nasdaq First North, counts a market cap around $150 million, and employs more than 500 globally.
Mobile Apps, Software
The firm specializes in creating custom mobile apps, business-related software and e-commerce platforms. For example, it recently helped National Public Radio member station KCRW in Santa Monica relaunch its mobile app to offer modern features and give users the ability to pause live radio and save music and podcasts to a custom feed.
Houttu said Vuria is a custom software company with a focus on CRM (customer relationship management) and e-commerce application development. Financial terms for the acquisition of Vuria were not released.
“Their services add to our offering by providing concierge web hosting and support services, and also digital marketing services such as SEO (search engine optimization) social media, content marketing and video production,” Houttu said.
Vuria has more than 20 employees and nearly 300 active customers,” according to Vincit, which itself has close to 35 employees in Orange County.
Expanding Offerings
The acquisition expands Vincit’s operations in the U.S., enhancing its ability to provide digital and mobile services to its customers in California and across the nation.
“With the VURIA team we have even better positioning to offer our clients world-class hosting, and e-commerce design and development services,” according to Houttu.
Houttu is a Finnish native, who has been in the U.S. for almost five years. He said Vincit has 30 to 35 active clients in California. About half the employees are working at home, and about half are in the office.
“We do a lot of work for real estate companies and their apps,” Houttu said.
