ViewSonic Corp.’s new 25,000-square-foot headquarters in Brea was designed to showcase the company’s new line of touch-screen projectors and virtual desktops that are drawing strong demand in the classroom and at businesses.
The 65-plus visitors at its recent grand opening received demonstrations of the company’s interactive projectors that turn any surface into a digital whiteboard, where the images can be fed through a Wi-Fi connection onto laptops, tablets and smartphones in real time.
Dual pens and software allow two users to simultaneously write, draw or annotate, creating a more engaging presentation.
On the opposite side of the room, images blended together from two projectors were displayed on a 26-foot curved wall. The technology can display images as big as 200 feet.
The visual products maker relocated from Walnut with about 90 jobs and more than $1 billion in revenue, placing it among Orange County’s largest private companies.
It hired Irvine-based design firm SAA to help create the open floor plan, kitchen and product showcase rooms.
“This will suit our employees better, and hopefully we’ll have happier employees,” said Chairman and Chief Executive James Chu in a rare visit to the U.S.
The Taiwan native established the company in 1987 as Keypoint Technology Corp. in Walnut, where it maintained its headquarters until its recent move.
Iteris Avoids Delisting
Santa Ana-based Iteris Inc. has temporarily avoided a delisting on the New York Stock Exchange as it works to regain compliance in listing standards.
The company, which makes traffic management software, networking gear, and surveillance cameras, failed to file its annual report for its fiscal year ending in March. The NYSE last month accepted its plan to complete the audit.
Iteris received a warning letter Aug. 18, which followed the resignation of Chief Financial Officer Chuck McBride, who left in July after seven months with the company.
The company recently released preliminary financials for the June quarter. It said revenue will be in the range of $17.5 million to $18.2 million and projected a net loss of $600,000 to a profit of $100,000.
The revenue and profit targets are below Wall Street expectations of $20.3 million in sales and net income of $655,400.
