TECHNOLOGY
Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Nasdaq: CLNE) in Newport Beach surged 18% to $7.01 per share for a market cap of $1.4 billion. The company announced a fuel and infrastructure deal with Total (NYSE: TOT) yesterday, along with a separate renewable gas deal with BP Products North America Inc., a subsidiary of BP p.l.c. (NYSE: BP).
Artificial intelligence company Veritone (Nasdaq: VERI) rose 7.8% to $29.78 per share for a market cap of $942 million. The stock has gained more than 70% in the last month.
HEALTHCARE
Edwards Lifesciences Corp., an Irvine-based maker of heart valves, rose 2.7% to $87.92 per share for a market cap of $54.8 billion. The company said yesterday that the first patient had been treated in the Restore clinical trial for mitral valve disease with a minimally invasive device.
