Midday Stock Roundup

After Federal Reserve officials predicted no rate increases until 2022, the markets turned positive.

The S&P 500 was up 0.3% during midday trading to 3,218.23, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.1% to 27,284.96 and the Nasdaq ticked up 1.2% to 10,070.29.

The yield on the 10-year bond fell 5.2% to 0.786%.

Crude climbed 1.5% to $39.52.

Gold also was up 0.6% to $1,733 an ounce.

HEALTHCARE

Masimo Corp. (Nasdaq: MASI) climbed 4% to $224.30 and a $12.1 billion market cap. Volume of 340,000 shares was about half the daily average. The Motley Fool website highlighted the Irvine-based company for making “essential medical devices” to measure heart rate and blood oxygen levels.

TECHNOLOGY

Alteryx Inc. (NYSE: AYX) increased 3.4% to $143.89 and a $9.5 billion market cap. Volume of 760,000 was a third of the daily average. Shares of the Irvine-based software maker have almost doubled since April 3.
