Santa Ana-based Ingram Micro Inc. has acquired two companies that add to its higher-margin and growing recycling and mobile services business.
The company, which runs on razor-thin margins, adds U.K.-based Canai Group and Clarity Technology in Portugal to its sprawling global operations. Financial terms of the buys were undisclosed.
Canai, established in 2001, specializes in retail, telecom carrier and online trade-in services, as well as electronic products recovery, reuse and recycling.
Clarity, established in 2008, provides several services in the mobile device segment, including reverse logistics; repairs; parts and accessory management; diagnostics; and preventative maintenance.
Both companies bring Ingram key retail, carrier and original equipment manufacturer relationships in the telecom sector, Ingram said.
Ingram is the world’s largest distributor of technology products, with revenue of $46.4 billion last year.
Its shares are up 0.5% in early afternoon trading to a market value of about $4.25 billion.
