Big Rentz Calls New Director Hire `Pivotal Moment’

Names former Home Depot strategy officer to board

BigRentz, an Irvine-based online website that arranges rentals of large construction equipment, announced it appointed to its board of directors, Matt Schweickert, a former executive with The Home Depot.
Schweickert served as chief strategy officer and other executive roles, including leading the efforts to acquire and build The Home Depotโ€™s large equipment rental business.
“Mattโ€™s addition to our board is a pivotal moment for BigRentz,” Chief Executive Scott Cannon said in a statement. “His real-world experience leveraging technology to measurably drive growth in leadership positions at some of our industryโ€™s biggest players aligns perfectly with our vision to transform the equipment rental and construction industry overall.โ€
BigRentz says its digital platform simplifies the complex equipment rental and management process for 6,000 supplier partners representing 14,000 locations and customers across the country. The firm plans to introduce AI-infused software solutions to drive cost savings, break down communication silos and operate across more industry verticals, including staffing and financial services, to address evolving market demands.
Schweickert, who is based in Newport Beach, is currently an adviser to several start-ups.
