Activision Blizzard, the parent company of video game maker Blizzard Entertainment in Irvine, today reported fourth-quarter net income of $403 million, or 52 cents per share, down from $564 million, or 72 cents per share in the year earlier period. The company’s shares (Nasdaq: ATVI) rose in after-hours trading.
Net revenue was $2.3 billion, up from almost $2.2 billion in the year-earlier period.
The company said that segment revenue for Blizzard Entertainment was $794 million during the fourth quarter.
Activision Blizzard reiterated that it is working with regulators with a view toward completing its acquisition by Microsoft Corp. by June 30.
Activision Blizzard’s shares were up 0.7% to $72.05 apiece for a market cap of $56 billion in after-hours trading.
