Coworking company BizHaus is opening its first OC location in Costa Mesa on June 15th.
It’s at 2942 Century Place, a former industrial building next to State Route 73, about a block from The Lab Anti-Mall and Camp retail centers.
The 60-year-old building previously housed an equipment manufacturing company. Bizhaus co-founder Keith Yang said the history of the building was a draw; it was built by the great-grandfather of the current owner.
Loescher Meacham Architects of Los Angeles is designing the space.
BizHaus Costa Mesa will have roughly 14,000 square feet of office space, and hold approximately 100 members.
“We love what’s going on with the tech scene down in Orange County and some of the new business formation and creative and technology firms that we’re starting to see pop up,” said Yang. “We thought it was the perfect time to get into Costa Mesa.”
This will be the company’s fifth location, including two in Marina del Rey and El Segundo.
The Los Angeles-based company is looking into other places in OC, and Yang said it’s likely they will open another location here.
Desks will start at about $175 a month. A four-person pod goes for about $1,500 a month, and a four-person private office is about $1,900 a month.
BizHaus’ first OC location will feature multiple work-lounge areas, meeting rooms and a members café and dining area, according to the Irvine office of brokerage JLL, whose Matt Christensen represented it and landlord SCM Enterprises in the lease, which the Business Journal first reported on when it was struck last November.
