WHY: Over past two decades has overseen operations for the commercial developer, which has its own in-house general contractor and builds across the product type spectrum, including Anaheimโ€™s 352-room Cambria Hotel & Suites, Irvineโ€™s MacArthur Business Center, and South Coast Metroโ€™s two-building Skyline complex, the tallest residential towers in Orange County at 25 stories, and holding 349 units.

BY THE NUMBERS: Oversaw the opening of the companyโ€™s first senior housing community with the 2013 opening of Vivante Newport Mesa, a 296-unit assisted living facility a few blocks from Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian Newport Beach hospital. Second facility later built next door.

NEW ADDITIONS: Recently opened the $130 million Vivante Newport Center, a luxury retirement 99-unit apartment complex within walking distance of Newport Beachโ€™s Fashion Island on former Orange County Museum of Art property. Inked agreement withย Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterianโ€™sย to staff wellness centers within Vivanteโ€™s two local senior facilities.

FUTURE PLANS: Bullish on the senior living sector with plans in the works for a 198-unit project in the Dallas area.

IN THEIR WORDS: โ€œWe actually get to know the people and their families,โ€ Alder told the Business Journal. โ€œWe make a difference in their lives and thatโ€™s pretty cool.โ€
