OC50 2026: ELIZABETH SEGERSTROM & SANDY SEGERSTROM DANIELS

MANAGING PARTNERS

C.J. SEGERSTROM & SONS

WHY: Stakeholders in the family’s varied business interests, originally propelled by the late Henry T. Segerstrom. Elizabeth, Henry’s widow, and Sandy, the daughter of Henry’s cousin Harold and his wife Jeanette. Family-run firm owns and operates some of Costa Mesa’s most valuable commercial properties, including the internationally known shopping center South Coast Plaza — the highest gross sales of any planned retail establishment in North America and the largest collection of luxury retailers. Also controls the Westin South Coast Plaza and a cluster of high-rise office towers across Bristol Street in Costa Mesa, including Plaza Tower, Center Tower and Park Tower, along with the surrounding office campus. These buildings collectively total over 1.3M square feet and house major law firms, financial services companies and corporate tenants.

IN THE NEWS: South Coast Plaza was the presenting sponsor for Carnegie Hall’s 130th anniversary in New York City in May, with Elizabeth as gala lead chair and Sandy as one of the co-chairs of the black-tie event. She planned a reimagining of the hall’s 1976 Concert of the Century, with performances by Renée Fleming, Lang Lang and Audra McDonald.

NOTABLE: Sandy founded the Festival of Children Foundation in 2003 to support children’s charities, and she drove the designation of September as National Child Awareness Month in 2008. Family donated plot of land that became Costa Mesa arts hub anchored by Segerstrom Center for the Arts, where Henry Segerstrom was founding chairman. Complex includes Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, South Coast Repertory, Samueli Theater and was topped off with the opening of Orange County Museum of Arts (OCMA) in 2022.
