Irvine Call-Center Operator Expands Into Honduras

Irvine-based call-center operator Alorica Inc. is opening an office in Honduras to support increasing business opportunities there.

The company said it plans to have about 200 employees in the San Pedro Sula office by the end of this year to cater to its “rapidly growing client base” and increased work for an existing client in the television entertainment sector.

The new office will be headed by Senior Vice President Shawn Stacy and Brian Jeppesen, divisional vice president.

Alorica has 40 offices throughout the U.S. and abroad, including in Brazil and the Philippines. It has more than 20,000 employees overall, with about 75 here.

Alorica had $570 million in revenue last year and ranked No. 4 spot on the Business Journal’s latest list of top minority-owned businesses in Orange County.

Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Andy Lee said Alorica expects Central America’s “growing economy and skilled, bilingual workforce” to help support its global expansion.
