The majority of local automakers saw a rise in vehicle sales last month.
Kia America’ sales reached an all-time high for October, climbing 83% year-over-year to 59,164 vehicles. The Irvine-based automaker’s highest-selling vehicle, the Sportage crossover SUV, saw a sales decline of 6.9% to 11,053.
Sales for Genesis Motor America, the Fountain Valley-based luxury vehicle division of Hyundai, jumped 31% year-over-year to 5,724. The company’s most popular vehicle, the GV70 SUV, rose 22% to 1,885.
Hyundai Motor America’s sales last month increased 0.3% to 60,805. Sales for the Fountain Valley company’s Tucson, its best-selling car, jumped 4% to 15,638.
Mazda North American Operations was the only local automaker to report a sales decline. The Irvine-based company saw sales dip last month 7.2% to 23,504. Sales for Mazda’s most popular vehicle, the CX-5 SUV, fell 16% to 9,441.
