The Fritz Duda Co., owner of Via Lido Plaza in Newport Beach, has added the River Jetty Restaurant Group as the new operator of The Lido Theater.
The River Jetty hospitality group is run by film and music producer Joseph McGinty Nichol, better known as McG, and Newport Beach local Jordan Otterbein. The firm’s portfolio consists of local dining concepts including A Restaurant, A Crystal Cove, and CdM Restaurant.
McG, a Newport Beach native who got his start in Hollywood making music videos, plans to bring a mix of live music, first run and classic movies, speakers, comedians and other performance groups to The Lido following its recent multi-million dollar renovations.
Fritz Duda has been restoring the theater to its original art deco design and upgrading the property’s infrastructure since late 2019.
“Live performances will broaden the appeal and programming for the theater, and with Lido House next door, we have created an entertainment and hospitality district that will serve Newport Beach and Orange County well,” Duda said in a statement.
