Dana Point-based ePunk Inc. reported that its June-quarter revenue increased nearly four-fold from a year earlier to $672,438 but posted a loss of $519,158 for the period.
The company had net income of $2,788 a year earlier.
The loss in the latest quarter appears to be tied to interest expenses and higher operating costs following ePunk’s recent opening of a retail store in Dana Point, the company’s first a brick-and-mortar location.
EPunk is a distributor of power-sports products and accessories sold through its store here and online.
Epunk is nine months into its fiscal year, and it has so far notched $1.4 million in sales, about six times the revenue for the same period a year earlier.
It has lost about $754,000 over the nine months, compared with a profit of $1,290 a year ago.
The company trades over the counter and has a market value of about $46 million.
It distributes motorcycles, gas- and electric-motor scooters, all-terrain vehicles, dirt-bikes and other gear through its County Imports brand. Some of its other website affiliates are beach-bike distributor CountyCruisers.com and auction site BidPunk.com.
