Michael Cole is heading back to Europe.
The Kia Motors America Inc. president was named president and CEO of Hyundai Motor’s European business, effective July 1.
Cole began serving as Irvine-based Kia Motors America’s president last November and before that was its chief operating officer and executive vice president. Before coming to the U.S., Cole worked for Kia in Europe.
The company through a spokesman told the Business Journal there are no other changes to the organization currently, when asked about a successor to Cole or interim appointment.
“Michael made a huge impression on all of us at KMA and today we applaud the news and celebrate his return to Europe,” Kia said in a statement. “We are confident [his] skills will continue to serve him and all of us in the greater Hyundai Motor Group.”
