Sales at Orange County auto dealers continued their recovery with a 24% rise in December to 10,830 autos sold.
Last month’s new auto registrations, a barometer of sales, help drive a 14% sales rise to 109,834 vehicles for all of 2010, according to the Newport Beach-based Orange County Automobile Dealers Association.
Nearly all brands saw double-digit increases in December.
South Korean automaker Kia, which has its U.S. base in Irvine, had the biggest percentage increase in December.
Kia’s sales were up 102% to 254 autos for the month.
South Korea’s Hyundai, which has its U.S. base in Fountain Valley, was up 52% to 591 autos.
Luxury sales were mixed.
Mercedes-Benz was down nearly 3% to 722 autos. Lexus was down nearly 4% to 551 autos. BMW was up 36% to 679 autos.
Porsche was up 43% to 70 cars. Jaguar sales were up 9% to 36 autos.
General Motor’s Cadillac was up 29% to 138 autos. Audi was up 31% to 237 autos.
Toyota and Honda, the top two selling brands in Orange County, were up in December. Toyota was up nearly 12% to 2,024 autos.
Honda boosted sales nearly 57% to 1,602 autos.
Among domestic brands, Ford’s sales rose 21% to 818 autos. General Motors’ GMC brand was up nearly 4% to 139 autos. GM’s Chevy brand was up nearly 6% to 12%.
