Footwear veteran Joel Oblonsky was named chief executive of Huntington Beach footwear licensee Titan Industries Inc.
He replaces interim CEO and founder Joe Ouaknine, who serves as Titan’s chairman.
Oblonsky previously served as chief executive of footwear and accessories company Nine West Group. He’s also served as president of the Polo and Ralph Lauren footwear brands and as president and chief operating officer of Nina Footwear Corp.
Ouaknine said he hit the “jackpot.”
“This man will put us on a different level,” he said in a statement. “So glad to work with him and give him the ball to run with. He will score a lot of touchdowns. No doubt.”
Founded in 1998, Titan holds licenses for Badgley Mischka, Jewel Badgley Mischka, Splendid and French Connection. The company acquired luxury label Badgley Mischka two years ago in partnership with founders Mark Badgley and James Mischka, as well as New York-based apparel licensee MJCLK LLC for $16 million from Iconix Brand Group.
