PSEB LLC, the operating company of Anaheim-based Pacific Sunwear of California LLC, has named an interim CEO.
The company, which is comprised of Pacific Sunwear and Eddie Bauer LLC, said Chief Operating Officer Mike Relich has taken on the interim CEO position. The post had previously been help by Jim Gulmi, who is now executive chair of the PSEB board.
The executive change was first reported by Shop-Eat-Surf.
Gulmi was tapped to be PSEB interim CEO in January following the departure of Mike Egeck.
“This was a personal decision by Jim driven by his desire to spend more time with his family, and the board is in full support,” a PSEB spokesperson said. “Chief Operating Officer Mike Relich, a 30-year retail industry veteran, has assumed the role of interim CEO. Mike is deeply familiar with our business and operations, and has been a critical member of the executive officer team, particularly as we took swift action to adjust our business and operations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Pacific Sunwear President Alfred Chang and Eddie Bauer President Damien Huang remain in their roles.
Private equity firm Golden Gate Capital announced the formation of PSEB in 2018 for PacSun and Eddie Bauer in a bid to create certain synergies with shared services on the back end. The two retailers have since continued to operate independent from one another.
PSEB operates a combined 717 stores, 375 of those PacSun stores and 342 Eddie Bauer locations.
