A Swiss manufacturer has expanded its North American industrial piping systems division in a move from Tustin to Irvine.
Georg Fischer LLC makes plastic pipes, valves, and other products used in various industries, including the water treatment, life sciences and energy markets.
Its new facility, on Jeronimo Road in the Irvine Spectrum area, is 115,000 square feet, nearly double the size of its previous location. It has 130 workers and is led by James Jackson, head of the company’s business units in its Americas region.
“The new location provides the space we needed to increase our customization operations area and large-size pipe inventory,” Jackson said.
The Irvine location includes manufacturing, training and demonstration facilities for Georg Fischer and tool-and-die maker GF Machining Solutions’ West Coast operations, which previously were in Yorba
Linda.
Georg Fischer and GF Machining are part of Schaffhausen, Switzerland-based Georg Fischer Ltd. The parent company has offices in 32 countries, employs more than 14,000 workers, and had about $4.2 billion in overall sales in 2013.
