Anaheim-based Firstline Security Inc. has expanded its facilities in Orange County and San Diego in line with its fast-growing business.
Firstline installs and maintains security systems for commercial and residential properties, as well as utility companies and educational facilities.
The company expanded its 6,000-square-foot headquarters on Sunkist Street to about 10,000 square feet and more than doubled its size in San Diego with a move to a 3,200-square-foot-office there.
It has about 50 employees here and about 12 in San Diego, with plans to hire in both markets, said Chief Executive Steve Morefield.
Firstline had about $12 million in revenue last year, up 71% from 2012 and more than double since 2009. Morefield said the company has enjoyed steady growth throughout its history, especially through the recent recession.
“We are … engineer-driven, as opposed to sales-driven,” he said. “We saw very good years from 2007 on because we’re not out in the bid marketplace. We actually grew every year throughout the recession, and that
positioned us to be very strong going forward.”
