November Shapes Up to Match October Luxury Sales

In October, Orange County boasted 19 home sales that topped the $4 million mark, with the highest closed transaction fetching $10 million for the 4,000-square-foot oceanfront villa at 11 La Senda Place in Lower Three Arch Bay in Laguna Beach.

The month’s steady sales pace has extended into November: By the 15th of the month, eight $4 million-plus transactions had taken place in coastal Orange County, with the modern-inspired marvel at 2741 Ocean Blvd. fetching $8.85 million.

Transactions in the first half of the month included:

Beyond Compare

The estate at 2741 Ocean Blvd. in Corona del Mar, overlooking the landmark China Cove Beach, boasts panoramic views of the ocean, Catalina Island, Newport Harbor and the Main Channel.

It sold on Nov. 12 for $8.9 million, under its October asking price of $9.9 million.

The three-level, 4,500-square-foot home sits on a lot of nearly 11,000 square feet and has 240 linear feet of view frontage and 2,400 square feet of outdoor viewing terraces that provide areas for entertaining.

Inside, steps descend from the entryway to the main level, where every room offers a view to the horizon.

The open concept kitchen has a Sub Zero refrigerator, walk-in pantry, and a sliding glass door leading to a terrace.

There are floor-to-ceiling windows in the main living areas that frame the water views.

The two lowest levels host a large covered outdoor living area and six-car garage.

All five levels of the home are serviced by an elevator that provides direct access to China Cove Beach and Newport Harbor.

Dean Lueck of First Team Estates represented the seller, and John Cain and Kathryn White of HÔM Sotheby’s International worked on behalf of the buyer.

CDM Classic

The home at 4607 Camden Drive is in Corona del Mar’s Cameo Shores neighborhood and sits on a more than quarter-acre lot.

The sale closed on Nov. 18 for $5.3 million, above its October asking price of $5 million.

The 2,962-square-foot home is positioned to make the most of the ocean views and has floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as patio doors that lead to a view terrace. There are four bedrooms and three baths.

The kitchen has been completely remodeled, with custom cabinetry and granite counters.

Jacqueline Thompson of Surterre Properties Inc. and Evan Corkett of Villa Real Estate represented the seller and buyer, respectively.

Go For the Greenbelt

The four-bedroom, 4 ½-bath home at 14 Cliffhouse Bluff in Newport Coast—situated on a premier greenbelt location that affords privacy and open space—has views that include the ocean, Catalina Island, and city lights.

The 4,000-square-foot home, which sits on more than a quarter acre, sold on Nov. 12 for $4.9 million, under its October asking price of $5 million.

The Crystal Cove residence brings to mind a Mediterranean villa with its red tile roof, professionally landscaped yard, and bricked courtyard and entryway.

It boasts several outdoor seating and dining areas.

John Cain and Kathryn White of HÔM Sotheby’s represented the seller, and the buyer’s agent was Charles Buscemi of First Team Real Estate.

The home is upgraded with reclaimed oak floors, imported stone, an audio-visual system, and custom built-ins.

Picturesque and Peaceful

The four-bedroom, five-bath home at 12 Via Giada in Newport Coast offers views of Newport Back Bay, Catalina, the coastline, harbor, and the ocean from almost every room.

Rick Langevin of Surterre Properties represented the seller and buyer in the transaction, which closed on Nov. 7.

The home fetched $4.2 million, down from its Sept. 12 list price of $4.45 million.

The upgraded kitchen has Viking appliances, dual ovens and Travertine floors. The 5,000-square-foot home sits on 0.26 professionally landscaped acres. A decorative water fountain completes the backyard.
