In-N-Out to Replace Marie Callender’s in Anaheim

Irvine-based In-N-Out Burger will open a new location in Anaheim, signing a deal earlier this year to occupy a space that once served as a Marie Callender’s restaurant, real estate records indicate.

Marie Callender’s was a longtime occupant at 540 N. Euclid St. before it shuttered in 2019. The location has been vacant since.

The local burger chain signed a 20-year lease for the 10,183-square-foot building in January, according to data from CoStar Group Inc. The new restaurant will join tenants such as Walmart and El Super at the Anaheim Plaza shopping center managed by Kimco Realty.

The plaza, which counts 27 stores, earned $109.5 million in 2021 sales, ranking No. 18 in the Business Journal’s list of OC’s shopping centers.

Built in 1995, the building was purchased at the end of 2021 by Kimco as a part of a $113.9 million portfolio acquisition. Records show Newmark represented Kimco, while Springstead and Associates represented In-N-Out.

In-N-Out operates around 360 restaurants companywide with about 30 in Orange County. The company ranks No. 3 on the Business Journal’s list of OC-based restaurant chains ranked by systemwide sales.
