The Irvine Co. of Newport Beach bought a two-building office complex recently vacated by LPL Financial Inc. at University Towne Center. The price was $29.5 million, according to CoStar Group and public data.
The seller of the properties, which are at 9785 and 9791 Towne Centre Drive, was Los Angeles-based Kilroy Realty Corp.
Earlier this year, LPL Financial moved into a newly built 13-story tower at developer Hines’ La Jolla Commons at UTC, as the financial services company consolidated its local operations at several sites into one location.
The two buildings sold total 126,003 square feet and were built on 14.7 acres in 1998.
