Close to 1,000 spectators this afternoon watched flames engulf one of the two hangars at the former Marine Corps Air Station Tustin.
The fire, which started last night, has destroyed the larger part of the air base’s northern World War II-era hangar.
County officials will let the ongoing fire burn, as “the most operationally sound method is to allow the structure to collapse,” the Orange County Fire Authority tweeted earlier today.
