Fujifilm Moves Optics to OC

The optical device division of Fujifilm North America Corp. has moved its West Coast headquarters from Redondo Beach to the company’s facility in Cypress.

The new location for the optics unit is at Fuji’s 6200 Phyllis Drive campus, which totals about 187,000 square feet and is large enough to meet growing demand for the unit’s PL-mount and Cabrio lenses used by Hollywood content makers, according to marketing director Thom Calabro.

The optics division makes lenses for the broadcast, cinematography, closed circuit television, videography and industrial markets, and markets binoculars.

The local facility also serves as the unit’s technical communication center and motion pictures division.

The U.S. units are ultimately part of Tokyo-based conglomerate Fujifilm Holdings Corp., which posted sales of about $21 billion in the 12 months through March 2015.
