Primoris Wins $107M Texas Roadwork Contract

Lake Forest-based construction and engineering company Primoris Services Corp. said Wednesday it won a $107 million roadwork contract from the Texas Department of Transportation.

Primoris said its James Construction Group LLC unit won the work on Interstate 35 in central Texas. The work is set to start in July and last for three years.

The company is being tapped to widen and repave part of the interstate and build seven bridges.

Primoris went public in 2008 after buying about 80% of New York-based blank-check company Rhapsody Acquisition Corp. in a reverse merger.

The company’s ARB Inc. unit does work for utilities, oil and gas companies and others. Customers include Chevron Corp., Sempra Energy, Pacific Gas & Electric Co., BP PLC and ConocoPhillips.

In October, Primoris bought Houston-based Cravens Partners Ltd. for an undisclosed amount of cash and stock.

The company also operates its Cardinal Mechanical subsidiary in Texas.
