State Sen. Lou Correa, who represents Anaheim, Buena Park, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Stanton and Westminster, received the Charles Dick Medal of Merit from the National Guard Association of California for his support to California’s servicemen and women. The ceremony took place at the California National Guard headquarters in Sacramento.

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation honored Michael Hayde and Herbert Kalmbach for their patriotism, professional achievements and community service at the 27th Annual Marine Scholarship Ball at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point. Hayde, chief executive of Irvine-based Western National Group, received the Semper Fidelis Award. Kalmbach, an OC resident who was President Richard Nixon’s personal attorney and an adviser to President Ronald Reagan, received the Globe and Anchor Award.

Santa Ana-based Corinthian Colleges Inc. was named to AARP’s 2009 list of Best Employers for Workers 50 and Over.

James McDonald Jr., managing partner of Fisher & Phillips LLP’s Irvine office, was listed in Who’s Who Legal 2009. His practice involves litigation of all types of employment disputes.

RNM Design in Irvine won Gold Nugget awards for Outstanding Single Family Detached Home and Outstanding Community Site Plan at the 2009 Pacific Coast Builders Conference.

The California Landscape Contractors Association of Orange County awarded Anaheim-based RMA Land Construction Inc. with the Brilliance Award for best overall lighting project. Tustin-based Craig Pauley & Associates won the President’s Award for best landscape installation, renovation or water conservation project. It also won the Sweepstakes Award for best overall entry. Bemus Landscape Inc. in San Clemente received the Judges Award in the landscape maintenance category.

Stacy McCullough was named chair of the Remarkable Women Awards at the 14th Annual Remarkable Women Awards Luncheon. The luncheon was presented by the National Association of Women Business Owners, Orange County chapter.

The Black Chamber of Orange County presented Davina Samuel, a Huntington Beach-based vice president at Union Bank NA, with the Marlene R. Dyce Business-woman Empowerment Award at the chamber’s 25th Anniversary Celebration. She was recognized for her commitment to increasing opportunities for minority and women businesses.

The Mission Viejo franchise office of TeamLogic IT Inc. received two awards at the parent company’s annual owners summit in Washington, D.C. TeamLogic IT received an Overall Top Volume Award, recognizing the business as the top producing in 2008, and a Top Volume-Services Award, for highest sales in the company’s services unit.

Huntington Beach-based A-Med Health Care won the 2009 CalOptima Circle of Care Award for its healthcare service. A-Med provides healthcare and pharmacy services, focusing on door-to-door delivery of all medications and disposable supplies. CalOptima administers health insurance for Orange County’s low income families and residents with disabilities.

The Orange County chapter of the American Society of Interior Designs gave Karen Ziccardi of Costa Mesa-based Ziccardi Designs a Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is given to a member who has contributed to the profession through ongoing participation and demonstrated success and leadership.

Robert Becker, principal viola of Pacific Symphony in Costa Mesa, received the outstanding artist award at the Orange County Arts Awards held in the Samueli Theatre at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. He has provided the symphony with outstanding music and steady leadership for more than 25 years. Also receiving awards were The Chance Theater for Outstanding Arts Or-ganization, The Hal and Jeanette Seger-strom Family for Outstanding Arts Patron and South Coast Plaza for Outstanding Business Arts Patron.

The Irvine office of PrideStaff, a staffing agency, earned Inavero’s Platinum Award for Service Excellence. Inavero performs client satisfaction surveys.

City of Orange Mayor Carolyn Cavecche was named the Mobility 21 2009 Leader of the Year for her contributions to transportation.

Parvin Tabrizi, an Iranian immigrant, received the Rochelle Hoffman Memorial Award and a Congressional certificate from Rep. John Campbell for her work in improving her English writing and reading skills. The Newport Beach Public Library literacy program presented the memorial award.
